That is a good question and the answer is still that it is best to have 6 inches of clearance all the way around, including from the tailgate to the king pin box. I appreciate the photo you sent as that makes it clear how little room you really have.
While you are correct that when turning you are probably fine, the issue is when you encounter any types of rough roads or bumps or if you are driving and have to deal with a sharp incline - 2 inches is not enough and your truck's tailgate... view full answer...
This question has come up before. In order to make the drawbar portions of the tie downs, TorkLift would need to do a special manufacturing run for just that particular item. This would considerably add to the cost of the product, which would end up costing you about the same amount of money, if not more as starting from scratch would.
Given this, I'd recommend simply starting from scratch. If your truck does NOT have running boards or a side step that extends under the bed (wheel to... view full answer...
I couldn't find your order number to determine the exact weight distribution system you ordered from us, and the system matters due to their different tongue weight ranges. This is important because when choosing a weight distribution system for any trailer, you determine the correct system by your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle (in your case, a 2004... view full answer...
The K-Source Custom Towing Mirrors, part # KS80710, you referenced are a fit for your Dodge Ram if the OEM mirrors are not the extendable or telescoping mirrors. These mirrors have 2 cushioned strips attached to help provide a more secure fit and reduce vibration or wind noise.
I would suggest cleaning the mirrors on your Dodge Ram, and you may consider applying a coat of car wax to help protect your factory mirrors before you install them. This may greatly reduce the potential of any... view full answer...

If the display screen is not working properly on your Prodigy P2 # 90885 brake controller there is no way to replace the screen. A new one will be needed because guesstimating the settings is not something you really want to do. Keep in mind this controller does have a limited lifetime warranty so you can try filing a warranty claim first before purchasing a new one. view full answer...

Both the Curt # C17052 1000 lb system and the # C17057 1400 lb system use the same weight distribution head and ship with the same shank that offers a maximum rise of 6 inches or a drop of up to 2-1/2 inches.
The # C17052 is recommended for trailers with a fully loaded tongue weight ranging from 800-1000 lbs. The # C17057 works with trailers with a loaded tongue weight between 1000-1400 lbs.
You could purchase the # C17057 kit for the enclosed trailer, and for the camping trailer use... view full answer...
The 205/75-15 load range D tires we offer from Kenda, part # AM10245, Taskmaster # TR20515D and Westlake # LHWL300 should all be inflated to the maximum air pressure listed on the tire sidewall which is 65 psi.
The weight rating for a 15 inch tire in that size with that load rating (2150 lbs) is based on the tire being fully inflated to 65 psi. If the tire is not fully inflated, the tires weight capacity will be unknown which could lead to problems like blowouts or uneven tire wear. view full answer...
I called my contact at HWT and they said the PSI rating for part # AM22658HWTB is limited by the valve stem and tire that is used on the wheel.
This 16 inch diameter rim has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern, and has a load rating of 3,580-lbs.
We don't carry a valve stem for this rim that would have a high enough air pressure capacity but you should be able to find one at the tire shop you use to mount the tires and wheels.
You always want to have trailer tires inflated to their maximum... view full answer...
There is a slight chance that on your truck's wiring the wire gauge may be printed on the insulation, but at this time we do not know the gauge of the wire running to your trailer connector. Wire gauges can vary between factory-installed and aftermarket harnesses. Generally 12V power and brake controller output wires leading to a 7-way socket are carried on heavier gauge wires, often 10- or 12-gauge, while the lighting functions are carried on 12- or 14-gauge wire. view full answer...
I took a look at the owner's manual for a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500, and it stated that with at least a Class III hitch such as the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13333 the truck was capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs. I have added a link to a video install of this hitch on a Ram for you to check out.
Additionally, if your '05 Ram 1500 does not have a factory connector to power your trailer's lights you can add one with the Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit w/ 4-Pole Connector # 119178KIT. view full answer...

The easiest way to find any fuse or relay in a vehicle is to use the owners manual and/or the legend usually found on the lid of the power distribution box. Those for trailer-related functions will often have a TRL abbreviation.
From what I could find in the online version of the owners manual, the trailer tow lamps/park lamps fuse is in cavity J14 and requires a blue 20 amp cartridge fuse. The fuse for the 12V power feed to the trailer is in cavity J01.
